Most carbon wheels use water-slide decals, which are relatively inexpensive and offer choice when it comes to colors.
What are the benefits of laser engraved decals?
The primary benefits of laser engraved decals are weight savings, aesthetics, a reduction in waste, and durability. Depending on a decal's size, laser engraving can reduce weight, as nothing needs to be applied to the rims, making the same weight as wheels with no decals whatsoever.
Aesthetics are largely personal preference. Laser engraved decals can be more conspicuous, making them not quite as flashy. They offer a minimalistic and modern looking design.
Water-slide decals require plastic. In order to reduce the amount of excess material, we have chosen laser engraving.
Lastly, laser engraved decals do not wear as easily and retain their appearance significantly longer.
Do they affect the wheels' structural integrity or performance?
Laser engraving does not affect structural integrity, as the carbon fiber itself remains intact.
